منظمة الصحة العالمية “WHO”، تحذر من إنتشار “غير مسبوق” لمتحور أوميكرون
أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية، اليوم الثلاثاء، أن المتحور الجديد لفيروس كورونا “أوميكرون”، ينتشر “بوتيرة غير مسبوقة”، لافتة إلى أنه أصبح على الأرجح “متفشيا في معظم دول العالم”.
وقال المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، تيدروس أدهانوم غيبرييسوس في إحاطة إعلامية نقلت مباشر، ان “77 دولة أبلغت حتى الآن عن إصابات بأوميكرون، لكن الواقع هو أن أوميكرون موجود على الأرجح في معظم الدول حتى لو لم يتم رصده بعد”.
وتابع: “أوميكرون ينتشر بوتيرة لم نرَ مثلها من قبل مع أي متحور آخر. نحن قلقون حيال واقع أن الناس يتعاملون مع أوميكرون على أنه حميد.. حتى لو أن أوميكرون يسبب مرضا أقل خطورة، إلا أن عدد الحالات قد يُغرق مرة جديدة أنظمة الصحة غير الجاهزة”.
كما حذر غيبرييسوس المجتمع الدولي من أن “اللقاحات وحدها لن تسمح لأي دولة بالخروج من الأزمة”، داعيا إلى استخدام “كافة الوسائل المتاحة المضادة لكوفيد-19، على غرار وضع الكمامات والتهوية المنتظمة للقاعات المغلقة واحترام التباعد الاجتماعي”.
وأضاف مدير منظمة الصحة العالمية: “افعلوا كل ذلك. افعلوه بشكل متسق. افعلوه جيدا”، وفق ما ذكرت وكالة فرانس برس.
وتابع: “ظهور أوميكرون دفع بعض الدول إلى تقديم جرعات معززة من اللقاحات المضادة لكوفيد لجميع سكانها، وذلك رغم افتقارنا للأدلة بشأن فعالية الجرعات المعززة ضد هذا المتحور”.
